Other Details

Propalock, an innovative locking system designed for adjustable telescopic steel props, adheres rigorously to British Standard regulations (BS 4074:1982 and the current BS EN 1065:1999). Its primary objective is to enhance the security and facilitate the effective management of safe working practices within the context of temporary works and support operations during construction endeavors.

A Propalock offers significant advantages in security, convenience, and cost savings. It excels in anti-tamper features, providing robust protection against unauthorised access or tampering attempts.

Its design and mechanism make it exceptionally challenging for anyone to manipulate or break, ensuring the safety of valuable assets or properties.

Additionally, a Propalock ensures that only authorised individuals possess the key, minimising the risk of unauthorised access and simplifying key management. This controlled access reduces the chances of lost or duplicated keys.

Propalock serves as an indispensable tool for overseeing temporary support structures, thereby augmenting health and safety protocols. The widespread adoption of adjustable steel props is attributed to their inherent simplicity, swiftness, reliability, and cost-effectiveness in providing temporary support solutions across varying elevations, spanning from their contracted to extended states.

Adjustable telescopic steel props consist of an outer (lower) tube with a substantial diameter screw thread, a collar nut enabling precise thread-based adjustments, and an inner (upper) tube featuring multiple holes through which a loose pin can be positioned, affording a broader range of adjustments.

The initial installation of a Propalock is executed on the outer lower tube of the steel prop. Subsequent to the standard erection procedures performed by on-site personnel, Propalock is positioned in its operational configuration by a designated authority—a temporary works coordinator (TWC). At this juncture, the TWC assumes responsibility for overseeing the temporary works conducted on the site.
